My Prison Cell

Looking outside my glass prison
I see the world, the birds that fly
I see a future that lies
I see the open skies

Looking outside my glass prison
I wonder, what did I do to deserve?
What would I be if I was never captured?
What would the world be like when am free?

Looking outside my glass prison
I wana scream, I wana plead
I wana cry, I wish I could die
The voice is but mute and the mouth too dry
The dreams are broken and I am tied

Looking outside my glass prison
I realize am not bound at all
That they built it to keep me safe
And I maintained it to keep me sane

Looking outside my glass prison
I see the faces of all those gloomy days
The person I used to be and the statue that I’ve become
To think is to hope but all hope is gone
Its not a crime to be yourself but me myself am my fault

Looking outside my glass prison
I still want to escape
I want this sentence to end
But I am my own prisoner, how should I run?
The mind wants to fight me but am a tough one to take
For either I fight or not I’d be the one who’d lose…
